Linear as hell, but as usual a great story, cool combat and a lot of character development along the way. About to finish it for the second time on hard level, only have the highest level to beat after that. Difficulty is a bit higher than with Tales of Berseria, but still getting through fairly easily. A few optional bosses gave me some headaches, but most have been slain by now.
Definitely, combat is quite easy and there are tutorials that pop up along the way that let you practice. You can try and do massive combos, but you can also button bash your way through, you merely need to be a bit higher level to win. There's very little grinding too, it all flows quite smoothly.Bigby wrote: ↑Mon Mar 21, 2022 9:28 pmDanny wrote: ↑Mon Mar 21, 2022 8:58 am I'm back to one of my favorite series, Tales of Arise is the latest installment, very nice game. That sounds good. Could you jump straight into this one if you haven't played any previous games in the series?
I've been intending on giving 'Tales of Arise' a go for a while now. It's next on my list after 'Monster Hunter World' (MHW) which I'm playing at the moment. Just beaten the main story after 100 hours gameplay. It's an immense game. I got the 'Iceborne - Master Edition' - with Iceborne being a full size DLC which is meant to be just as long as the main story. So I reckon I won't be playing 'Tales of Arise' for another few months. Pretty sure I'll be more than ready for some good story by then - which is something MHW is very lacking on. The monster battles are simply off the scale though - took some getting used to (and I still rant like hell uncontrollably during the harder battles), but it is so worth it. It's like every fight is a boss battle.Danny wrote: ↑Tue Mar 22, 2022 12:47 pmDefinitely, combat is quite easy and there are tutorials that pop up along the way that let you practice.
