Re: Drivel
Saw 188bpm on the heart rate monitor whilst doing interval training yesterday. This is a new record. Not bad for an old man.

Be sure to keep it below 200 though, that's too much!Doomo wrote:Saw 188bpm on the heart rate monitor whilst doing interval training yesterday. This is a new record. Not bad for an old man.
I'm doing a shitload of cardio and from what I understand, you should keep your heart rate below 170 for endurance. For peak performance you can touch 200, but it was recommended to keep it below that.

Re: Drivel
Yeah. my long weekend run and then short maintenance runs I keep it around 140. Then one day a week intervals and another medium length run at race pace (training for a marathon in october)Danny wrote:Be sure to keep it below 200 though, that's too much!Doomo wrote:Saw 188bpm on the heart rate monitor whilst doing interval training yesterday. Is it mandatory for runners to look like they hate it?

Did a 16.3 mile run on Saturday. Marathon training shit is starting to get real.

Re: Drivel
i once ran 5 meters, and i hated it... have not run since... running is only useful if chased by something or someone thats either very scary or very ugly...
