Strange members of the public

Anything not music related ends up in here - a place for our community to chat and joke. You need a thick skin to survive, and don't let the regulars put you off, they're (nearly) all a nice bunch of people.

Strange members of the public

Post by ag4111 » Fri Apr 13, 2012 11:35 am

What types of people weird you out? I don't get people who stride about with their arms flailing about from side to side like they're about to start windmilling. Or zig zig walkers as has been discussed in previous threads.

Loli me.

Do you think any of the countless chuggers have ever been physically assaulted by members of the public?

zig zag walkers :|

People who sit next to you on the tube/train/bus, and then, when a seat is free on the opposite side of the carriage, they then switch to it. Only to have someone sit dowm next to them after the next stop anyway.

Conversely, people who sit down right next to you on the tube/train/bus, even though the rest of the carriage/bus is completely empty.

People who treat dogs/cats/pets like people.

People who think NSB is the epicentre for berks.

I try to make my member public as often as possible.

The only people who weird me out on the street are the ones you can tell are super violent. Men who try to put you in intensive care with their stare. The sort of people who would actually smash you into a mid eighties gravy advert, just for breathing too loud when they are about.
Also rudeboys, who despite the fact that it is quite obvious that you are going to need at least 1 foot of clearence to be able to walk past them will still inexplicably fail to notice you walking towards them forcing you to dodge around them at the last minute, lest you end up enraging them with your physical presence faux-pas.

Ones that feel the need to tell me their life story. I get them all the time.

Gypsies who have scruffy kids with mullets who let them just fuck about and not care what shit they are getting up to right in front of them.

these PLUS: people with buggies who think they're in charge of the world and therefore the pavement, people who stand at the back of a packed tube platform and then tut loudly whilst pushing everyone out of their way to try and get on the train first and people who stand really close behind you in shops queues and, when you try and move a wee it to get a bit of your space back they fill it immediately with the ever present, infuriating and slightly weird selves.

I have people talk to me who invade your personal area. Had one bloke once who kept leaning in so I backed off. He leant in again so I backed off. After the third time, he asked me if his breath smelt or something and I told him straight out there was no reason for him to come so close to me and have his face mere inches away from mine and that I could hear perfectly if he was stood a reasonable distance away.

I'm hoping he looked back on this and realises he pokes his face into everybody he talks to and stops it.

^ that. I at least like to be able to see a person's whole face when talking to them, not just the whites of their eyes.
