FL does everything Cubase does, and waaaaay more. iot's just not "cool" to have FL.

Fuck the haters. I think it's a great DAW

for chopping shit you might find Ableton a nice alt, especially if you play gigs live as it allows integration of both songs, samples, loops and full DJ sets. not as fun to write in as FL (still haven't found a better DAW for beat construction than FL)

Logic has some beautiful plugs but essentially doesn't do any more than FL.

the engines have all been compared sonically, by various magazines and sites, and no discernible difference has ever been found between the big 4.

Learn to use what you have, and use it well.

I actually brought a legit copy of Cubase and its just as buggy as the cracked versions. FML

Cubase actually does loads and I constantly discover new things I didn't know it did. I could probably use it in much better ways. Shame it's buggy.

all the daws are basically the same

take your pick

more important is the company who have created said daw

from this point of view reaper and ableton are the winrars

although i mainly use logic due to an extensive set of key commands that are now burned into muscle memory

Why's that? Support?

also - Space designer is another very nice reason to use Logic - that was one stunning suite.

was drawn to reaper at first because cheapness and ethos
but struggled to make it work because of personal spazzyness
now  abletoon
don't all daws now have their version of session view?

yeah support and updates and generally not being wankers like apple

you get the feeling that the ableton people actually give a shit

and although i use logic its like a space station built on top of a shanty town

the environment and other bits which are now mostly hidden away have been the same since about 1994 - they cant get rid of it because there will be some fruitloop somewhere who still uses it (me)
