drum rolls tutorial

Does anyone know of good tutorials or examples on how to program drum rolls?

sample old records, funk, jazz, etc. dance music, hip hop etc etc is built on sampling, i cant be bothered to find you examples but theres millions of tracks out there that have lifted fills from old records

if youre programming them then experiment with velocity and volume automation

another good trick is to take samples and then use them to trigger your own sounds, you can do this by converting audio to midi, or using cv depending on what software youre using

also theres lots of drum replacement software like drumagog and spl xchanger

then theres things like bfd, dfh, addictive drums etc

I have no idea how to make or do drum rolls, but this thread brings this old tune to mind.
