More clod rock

Post by innocent bystander » Thu Jan 29, 2015 4:26 pm

https://soundcloud.com/hoss_band/all-kings

Messing about with different chains. Most channels have an analogue vintage warmer, a console vst and then whatever it needs.

Fresh ears and opinions on the mix much appreciated.

sounds good

marked improvement IMO

will have proper listen tomo

in the cans at home it sounds good

i reckon this is the sort of thing that needs careful layers of filth

kind of needs to sound like the speakers are ripping apart / blowing up

you got any good tape saturation plugs?

I have a couple. Ferric tds is one.

At the moment every track has a psp vintage warmer, each bus has one too, but with a track tape setting.

Then into a Saturn console vst. Then a bit of sonalkis comp and a sonalkis eq.

Got a 'new York studio' verb buss which everything is sent to. Same chain as above.

It does sound awfully clean though. And I'm struggling to nestle the vocals in properly.

It's been mental. When this project is done I'm applying everything I've learnt mix wise to my electronic stuff. It's amazing how you concentrate on the mix when you can't twiddle the tune.

nice riffage and handclap vibes :badger:
can't help with the mix but the vocal does sound a bit separate from the rest
(not news to you)
