Regarding reverb, if you are using it because your mix is sounding too synthetic or dry, try using it on just the odd percussive element and EQ the reverb creatively ( I usually use it on a send for this purpose so you can tweak it with a decent EQ, remove the bottom end with a high pass filter and boost around the mid range to make it stand out how you want it to.) The odd percussive bleep or noise doused in reverb in the mix will bring a lot more life to it than say throwing it everywhere. I don't really add it to much now at all other than vocals and leads, but I always pay attention to EQing it. Also try using a different reverb for each element with different release times all EQd distinctively. Of course all this depends on what sort of sound your after.

Actually having just typed this first I've just had a listen to some of your tracks, your mix downs aren't too bad tbh, I've heard a lot worse!!

man been laid up in bed with man flu all weekend so haven't checked this thread for a couple of days!! ............thanks so much everyone I really am chuffed to bits and glad that other peeps are benefiting from the more experienced producer's input...........I'm off work again today so plan to put some tips into practice............thanks loads again and much love this forum has helped me so much!!
