actually thinking about it (god i am that bored) deano is spot on. the noise isnt curved. the portomento triggers when the first note of the two is taken off in this instance, giving the appearance of the curve.
Glissando rather than portomento? fuck knows. but you dont need no filter to obtain it thats fo sho

Hey guys, but the portamento is not gonna give you that ripping sound....it'll sound bendy and cool...but to obtain the rip....there must be a sweeping filter of some kind....IMO
Hey sSavant, made this quick audio tutorial for ya and anyone else who wants to learn a certain method for makeing that ripping synth. This is just one way...there's many ways to acquire that sound. This was all done in Ableton Live from a saw wave wave file. Hope you think it helps, peace.

bro, so you were talking about mine? what makes you think your right? The guy asked for a ripping sound.....to me synth wise, that's basically a high passed saw wave....or a number of various wave forms, square...maybe even a distorted triangle.... To just blurt out that something doesn't sound like something some one else is looking for....is just foolish.chasney wrote:mate i couldnt ever be assed to upload summit like that to prove someone wrong that ill never meet or sleep better knowing i have. so dont worry about it
Have a good one anyway though.

Chasney.... ah, didn't see that link... I sit corrected. Still not really ripping sounding.... Relax there....who's Madox.
That is a most likley a portamento... you got the original octave, then it goes quickly and octave lower then rises about an octave or two above the original octave. Cheers, right on.
Luqas.....thanks....erosion is a certain effect that Ableton live has....it's kinda like a bit crushing effect....sounds great on synths, and loops even vocals sometimes.
