your all time favorite breakbeat vinyl

Post by Dee Doo » Sun Jan 10, 2021 4:01 pm

Hi there.

Back after several years without even coming on the forum... I’m still playing vinyls with the old labels we all love.

I wonder what would be the perfect breakbeat set... could you help me by telling which 12” track would be YOUR favorite.

( no dnb or happy hardcore breaks , we are on NSB don’t we... :D )

I specially enjoy the ones with ragga reggae voices ... :yesyes:

Too hard. It’s like picking my favourite child. Two immediately spring to mind which is Who’s the Badman - Dee Patten. And Deekline - I Don’t Smoke the version with Crimestoppers on, as both them tracks are 🔥🔥

Too hard indeed. But I have some favourites from the category "breaks tracks that were released on vinyl only" ;)

OUT NOW:
T.R.O. - Destroy Again [Deep Garnet]
Spinnet - Flight Mode (T.R.O. remix) [Deep Garnet]
T.R.O. - Feierlich [Deep Garnet]
Borka FM & Deeply Unexpected - 2@35 (T.R.O. remix) [Deep Garnet]

Very good taste Mr Jimmy Brayks, both are in my wishlist.

I don't really play them (don't even have the Thursday Club tune, which is much better than the re-release he put out on TCR), but they both stick out in the memory as cracking breaks tunes I heard before I really knew much about breakbeats. Josh Winks obviously crossed over into the mainstream, so was played everywhere (student union nights) and I originally heard acid on a mixtape done by a friend who usually played house.
