Winamp and the new NSB ... help

I've been listening to NSB for the last 5 or so years, however recently they changed pretty much everything.
I cannot for the life of me get Winamp to stream anything. It just says error syncing to stream. It worked fine before!

Yes yes, I know Winamp is old etc. but I still use it. Deal with it 8)

I use this url https://nsbradio.co.uk/listen128k.asx

Well derp. I figured it out finally.
Download https://nsbradio.co.uk/listen.pls and just drag into Winamp. Apparently opening the url doesn't add it to Winamp.

All good now!

It's still good :) AOL bought it, then sold it to whoever. Still no new version lol.

I didn’t think Winamp supported asx files. Pasting the listen.pls into the open url box should normally work though so this is making me concerned the issue might not be winamp

Yeah sorry, that was a typo on my part. I was having a hissy fit and was messing up my urls :yesyes:
I have only used https://nsbradio.co.uk/listen.pls as I know Winamp has no support for asx, unless plugin is installed :)

I too find it odd that opening the url didn't do anything, but dragging it (after downloading it) works just fine.

I still use Winamp, what's so weird about that? It still whips the lama's ass you know!
All time best music player ever, there's just no two ways about it.

I also tried Foobar2000 just now and it says security error when adding the files. Maybe because the playlist links are https and not regular http.

Hey thats interesting, its something i've asked simon about - making the streams https - but he hasn't got around to it yet. I trust you managed to tune in?

I did, but only after removing the s in https :) Otherwise it's a no-go on my end at least.
Even Winamp's add url will work if removing the s.

Also if you open the playlist file in Notepad [ https://nsbradio.co.uk/listen.pls ]
it will have regular http links as well, which makes a lot of sense that it only works when downloaded and dragged (or have the s removed in https).

Code: Select all

[playlist]
NumberOfEntries=3
File1=http://live.nsbradio.co.uk:8904/
File2=http://live.nsbradio.co.uk:7904/
File3=http://djusa.nsbradio.co.uk:7904/
