That Stanton Warriors Good Vibrations mash about
For anyone who hasn't heard it, apparently it came about as a result of their being a part of the "good Vibrations" tour down under and as a bit of a treat for the fans they decided to play around with the Beach Boys classic, so Dom Stanton says on Annie Nightingale's show a few weeks back. It was available to download off a recent newsletter.
ANYWAY, my point is, how on EARTH have they managed to knock off what is essentially aural devastation on a global scale in "about an hour" as Dom claims in his Nightingale interview? It's just so damned grimy and great and the pissing about with the Marky Mark song of the same name yet no connection to the original is the icing on the cake.
If this is the sort of thing they can just roll off the mac in less than an hour of playing about then I fear there is no hope for the rest of us, they have just cracked breakbeat supremacy and will never be beaten. Interestingly I think the rest of this minimix I heard it on is a bit shit but this track/mash up makes it all worthwhile. I WANT IT.
As a big fan of the Beach Boys I'd normally consider it sacrilege to piss about with their work BUT this is a BEAUTY.
Gutted I missed them both at home in B'town on Thursday AND at Matter on Friday due to being very very (K-related) ill.
Is it me or are they just taking the piss?

How could they do it so quickly?
Perhaps they already had the tune ready and just edited the vocals over it, i guess mark must be pretty handy at that kinda thing.
big tune, i love that raw meat tune they gave away for free also

After you make one good tune you have the template ready.
Then its just changing few samples every now and then to make "new" tune.

It's well Jackson. I LOVE it.
I guess the template thing probably makes sense but even still, to say it took you less than an hour to crack off something that's so dancefloor ready is quite something if you ask me.
I'm fucking LIVID I missed them boys Stanton. I even told my Google calendar to remind me to take time off work in advance of the Brighton gig and did it remind me? DID IT FUCK.
If I had a fucking car anymore I'd drive to fucking Birmingham or somewhere else the tour goes to, far, far away. BUT I DON'T.
THANKS DVL FUCKING A

I am a respectable tax paying member of society thank you. In fact I even alluded to this fact in my post which you quoted

I know people seem to think I've become a disagreeable troll lately, but I genuinely do think that this track is fucking awful.
The sample is completely mismatched and there is really NO NEED FOR IT!

Oh look... Minimax done a mix!
MR MINIMAX - THE GOODNIGHT MISTRESS VOL.1
A mellow mix of ambient, downtempo and experimental music, electronic and organic.
Aids restful sleep and makes a perfect accompaniment for sitting back and watching the walls breath a little.
And if for some reason you wanted to read about my thoughts on life, the universe and everything... You might be able to do so here.

Re: That Stanton Warriors Good Vibrations mash about
yea i can see why it'd be popular but it seems a bit gimmicky for my taste. not knockin em for makin it, just not what i look for myself. way back, i did a remix of marc cohn's 'walkin in memphis' for christ's sake. but note that no one else has ever heard it (mainly since this one is easily 1000x better)
