Lockdown Livestreamers

Post by shaman » Thu Sep 10, 2020 11:27 pm

Lockdown shut down clubbing and festivals, but really seems to have brought livestreaming to a new place, giving DJs ways to stay connected to fans, find new ears and perhaps get a few pennies from the people who can't spend them in clubs.

And discovering twitch has meant that I can listen and view in great quality without the stream getting shafted half way through (like facebook).

If you've found something worth tuning into, give it a plug here.

My two favourite things are:

Thursdays at about 9pm - https://www.twitch.tv/askillzdj - quite simply one of the best DJs on the planet and a pretty amazing livestream setup.

Fridays at about 9pm https://www.twitch.tv/kraftykuts - BREAKS and FUNK in Krafty's house!!!

Also special mention to our own Morphosis with https://www.twitch.tv/h0ngk0ngpingp0ng. I don't manage to listen much, but he puts a lot of time into streaming (and has for a while).

Best to watch live, as the streams get partially muted within about 24 hours, though still not as much as farcebook. Not tried the new mixcloud live yet, but like they way they must be paying artists in some way, as they don't mute (and livestreamers have to pay a monthly fee).

Let the self promotion commence.

Lots of really good production livestreams on Twitch and such out there at the mo as well.Jade Cicada a guy who has close ties to Tipper has been streaming on and off for a good while and there's a lot of gold info in them.some other pretty insightful ones have been the Culprate Livestreams,to mark the launch of his crowdfunded album.i know that isn't the mainstay here musically, but perhaps there are some budding producers who like to swim in many different pools
