Artist Biogs:

SI BEGG

Over the past decade Si Begg has amassed a prolific back-catalogue. He has recorded under a plethora of pseudonyms including S.I Futures, Buckfunk 3000, Cabbage Boy, Bigfoot and Dr Nowhere and the Maverick DJ. He has also re-mixed tracks for the likes of Leftfield, Freddie Fresh, Sven Vath, Lamb and Ken Ishi. Labels he has worked for include Novamute, Tresor, Ninja Tune, Botchit and Scarper, Skint, Fuel and his own Noodles Institute imprint. He is a respected live performer and DJ on the international circuit, playing venues as diverse as The Liquid Rooms in Tokyo, Tresor in Berlin, Fabric in London, Sonar in Barcelona and Roskilde in Denmark. 2008 will see him release a new LP on Noodles 'Jetlag and Tinnitus', featuring a selection of dancefloor bombs road tested and developed over the last 2 years of gigs.

For more info see www.sibegg.com

HYPNOTECH

Co-owner and Content Manager of Addictech.com and Addictech Records, Hypnotech has direct access to the leading artists and labels in upfront
international underground electronic music. Since his first DJ gig in 1985 in his local roller rink, Hypnotech has been sharing his favourite waveforms with the masses from early childhood. Focusing on booty warping bass heavy dancefloor transmissions, his dedication to cultivating the finest in electronic music is obvious in every set. Becoming a fixture in the underground San Francisco circuit in 2000, he has played an endless amount of clubs,
outdoor festivals, and underground renegades along the west coast with his hi fidelity sound. For undiluted holographic bassforms you need to look no further.

For more info see www.addictech.com

LAWGIVERZ

Some things make more sense backwards. With the Omega Point fast approaching, Lawgiverz have erased their own history and invite you to join in this moment right now, the ongoing dance of creation and destruction. In collaboration with Trigger and Addictech, the Universe has provided Lawgiverz with the most advanced soundsystem on the planet and the most efficient way to share their music, so what is left to say apart from thank you ? If you like the idea of destroying yourself with a large dose of alien love in the electrobreaks style, this could really be your thing.

NEURONAUT

Neuronaut, a Cambridge UK-born solo agent currently operating from San Francisco "explores a wide gamut of possible stimulation to the auditory nodes through ambient, down-tempo, breaks, glitch, and dubstep musical modalities." He is also known to have co-founded at least one splinter group of notable influence, a key provider of material support known as Addictech. In addition to a fully deployable 20,000 watt sound system, this highly active cell's assets also include a staggering cache of sonic materiel available as digital downloads, vinyl and CD's, as well as a new label whose agent roster includes Neuronaut, Future Funk Squad, SOTEG, Lawgiverz, and Habersham

For more info see www.addictech.com

JNR HACKSAW

Jnr Hacksaw a.k.a. Lex has long been a player on the dance music scene. Moving to Bristol in 1990 he started a psychedelic funk night The Dig In, playing dirty breaks and early trip hop. Around '93 Lex was messing around with a bunch of old synths and a four track making experimental tunes, he also got involved with legendary free party movement Elektrik Orgasm, bringing the tripped out sound to fields and warehouses around the UK, and helping set up Elektrik Orgasm Records. Recording as Nervasystem and Aether, alongside Drezz he had a string of releases, before turning to the emerging Electrobreaks sound, releasing his first Electrobreaks outing on Trigger Recordings in 2005.

For more info see www.jnrhacksaw.com

KSMKNL

Ksmknls relationship with sound systems started with the free festival scene of the 80's/90's. This set the blueprint for Trigger, the club night he started in 1994, which has gained worldwide recognition. His dedication and passion for the sound that moves him is notorious and has seen him get bookings all over the UK and USA. As well as being resident DJ at Trigger and DJ'ing all over the world, he has four times attended the Miami Winter Music Conference, twice with the now defunct Fuel Records crew and the infamous Fuel sound system cars, and toured the States alongside Tipper. In 2003 he formed Trigger Recordings to allow a greater audience to be part of the project, beginning with the renowned 'Holographic Bassforms' CD and now approaching its 6th vinyl release.

IYTAL

Iytal began DJ'ing in the mid nineties, attracted to the experimental nature of the breakbeat sound, and started off playing Electrobreaks and promoting nights in various clubs. He has since gone on to DJ all over the UK holding residencies at 93 Ft East in London, The Cellar in Oxford and The Canal Club in Wolverhampton, as well as playing such clubs as Dangerous Drums in Berlin and various venues in Paris. Also a music journalist for many years for various underground projects, including Nubreaks.com and the now defunct UK magazine Breakin' Point.

SKELETON

Hailing from the Lake District, Cumbria and relatively new to Birmingham Skeleton's a DJ that draws on many different styles of break beats from funk to Dubstep but ultimately based around the electro breaks sound. A current student at Birmingham City University studying photography and illustration he uses music and art to express himself. After starting out playing at free parties and raves in the Lake District Skeleton came to Birmingham where he co-founded and holds residence with the Open Beats collective at the Rainbow. He also likes to dance...

SYZYGY

Syzygy Visuals have been producing and performing live visuals since 2000, performing at various events, from the Glade Festival to the World Badminton Championships opening ceremony, with many nightclubs, DJs and bands in between. We've performed at over 500 events, and highlights for us include Shambala Festival, Supersonic Festival, Softly, and of course Trigger. We've worked with Trigger since 2005, providing main room visuals, and running their chillout room, mixing sounds from across the board of electronic music with live generated motion graphics, audio-visual songs, music videos and short films.

Technology

Pro X-Fade

Frustrated with the products being offered on the market, professional DJ company, Eclectic Breaks, has developed the world's most advanced 'DJ friendly' analogue crossfader. The EB Pro-X-Fade crossfader utilises 100% conductive plastic tracks for longer fader life, it allows DJ's to physically change the feel of the fader to suit their particular needs. By employing the easily accessible cut-in rotaries, the DJ can also alter the cut-in point to provide an instant on/off switch feel, or gradual volume increase mode. Fits most modern mixers. The EB Pro-X-Fade benefits from a wider stem to prevent breakage during use. Fully endorsed and supported by Trigger, the EB Pro-X-Fade has been designed to allow easy access for lubricating and cleaning the fader-pole. Supplied with its own adjustable tools.

shaman, were you at the bristol one around spring time last year?

Anyway, its definitely one of the best music experiences I've had. Breaks in its pure unadulterated form, and then some.

I recall telling some chap how I'd been so taken with the lawgiverz, that I had been persuaded to come to the night. He listened patiently and we chatted for a while.

5 minutes later, he's up on stage playing as one of the lawgiverz.

Almost as good as the time we had dinner with Andy Gardner and some others, and Gina, not recognising him, asked if he dj'ed too.

I am bang up for this. Are there any Birmingham peeps on the site who can give some advice as to where the venue is and the easiest way to get to and from it (from Birmingham New St station)?
