Yes. I first heard that on a freebie Urban Gorilla mix CD that I got about 10 (ten :? ) years ago. Wish I still had that CD.

You were going to UG 10 years ago??

That's right. Or if not exactly ten then definitely nine years ago, although I'm pretty sure I was going there in 2002. The early times in the Fez club used to properly twist my head. Back then they had some local DJs playing there; the likes of Jon Wainwright, Ann D and a bloke called Leki. It was this lot, along with the UG residents like Geoff Ticehurst and Muhsin who really got me into breaks 8) (& consequently on to this forum :violin: )

Haha. Small world. I know John pretty well, I didn't know him from UG though. I used to drink in the Vine and we just randomly got talking about breaks one day and then known him ever since. He then started playing at Head Charge along with Ann who is bloody lovely and had the patience to try and teach me to mix one night. Aww. I miss those days. Long live Charles Street IMO. Some of the best nights of my life in there :D

Wow, the Vine Inn. I'm still very loosely in-touch with Wainwright (through facebook) but tell him I said hello if you see him. He was a MASSIVE inspiration to me; I used to absolutely love his sets at Headcharge and I was all starstruck when I got to know the gadgie personally.

Chances are you probably know a load of other people who I know as well. I miss Sheffield (sometimes).
