whenever people post/tweet about how they have the best 'life/gf/bf/job', etc, they 'couldn't be happier', etc, I always wonder 'hmm, what are you hiding/desperate to cover up/in denial about'? Or 'who are you trying to impress?'

Without wishing to sound like a curmudgeon, I suppose my new worst FB activity has to be tagging yourself when out doing interesting stuff. So and so is : at the opera house doing cool cultural stuff that you are not doing
So and so is : drinking in the sun with lots of cool friends, but your reading about it on facebook, so you are evidently not here.

At first I thought it was cool, like wow I could tag myself when I am doing something then my friends can know to come find me. No, this demonstrably is not the point of tagging yourself. By the time you see where your friends are, they are already there and been there for ages. You would be there too, from the start, if they wanted you to be there, because they WOULD HAVE INVITED YOU.
The only purpose of tagging yourself somewhere cool is so that your peers can know about your cool activity.
The same principle as my last rant. People don't post :
