Are you any relation to Bobby Hill? (you're far better looking)

Please sum up your first impressions of the game in one short paragraph. :)

Thanks!
No relation, no.

It's a good palate cleanser after spending 100 hours on Zelda.
I was looking for something visceral, which it definitely is.
Rockstar have done their usual amazing job with the characters, the heavily stylised cinematography and voice acting.
I'm not enjoying bullet time as much as Dead Eye in Red Dead.
Although, I've only cleared the first three chapters so this may change.
Plus, I keep dying, a lot, a lot, a lot. (- on the default settings.)

Sold in the first line. Been bored by video games recently after foolishly getting stuck in to Skyrim at Xmas - this sounds worth a go to start enyoying games again :)

I know what you mean - I'm shite at COD type games but love the Rockstar 3rd person stuff.

the first 2 were 3rd person. is it dead cheesy and over the top film noir style? loved that about the first 2 games...

It's Dougie Hurd person, it is Rockstar after all.
(I'm crap at Damien Hirst person too)

It is dead cheesy and over the top film noir style

I needed a real drink to cope with the electronic music and robotic people."

I haven't played Skyrim but imagine this is the complete opposite.
It is very linear and you are constantly compelled to keep moving forward through the story.
Hang around too long in cover and someone throws a grenade in.
Spend any time searching a freshly cleared area and the voice over chastises you for procrastinating!

I too have moaned about robotic people this week

Did you play LA Noire? Is it anything like that?

It's NOTHING like L.A. Noire (so far)
(haven't had the time to get any further with it)
It's completely on rails, no freedom to venture off the narrative line at all
It's cut scene, shootout, cut scene, shootout, cut scene.......
but less tedious than that sounds!

that does sound rather tedious. Like Uncharted.

I didn't really like LA Noire. This does sounds like something I think I would like right now.

How long do you think you're going to take to complete it? 8)
