Honey was doing great at classes, but then she got kennel cough and hasn't been able to go back cause we don't want her to spread it. She's still coughing occasionally and has missed 2 of her classes now

I'm actually not feeling very positive about being a dog "owner"* at the moment, but I think that's down to me being generally a bit stressed at the moment and me feeling like I could do without the responsibility.

Oh well, too late for that. Soldier on.

She's at work with me today.

*(don't really like the word owner when it comes to living things, but I couldn't think of a better word)

i had a bit of that as well. i think i was over thinking dog ownership. and might as well call it ownership, that's what it is in law. i suppose i did pay for him!

summer IS coming, you'll get chances to get out in the longer evenings and chill with your hound. she'll become integral, not an addition, soon enough mate. they always do.

BTW Clod, Honey was ok when I got home yesterday, she had turned her bed upside down on top of her water bowl and was sat on top of the pile she'd made in her crate when I came in, and she let out an excitement-piss when I let her out. I tried not to make too much of a fuss of her.

Took her straight out for a walk, where she took care of the rest of her business (good to know she will hold it for half a day).

I felt really guilty though.

he was the bain of my life while he was alive

biting everyone, barking, running amock, ruining my stuff. (he even attacked the dog trainer at training classes)

thats what happens when you buy a working puppy dog as a small boy, with absolutely no concept of how to look after a dog, but we bundled our way thru life, he slept in my bed every night, he lived till he was 17, and we both wept together on his way down to vets in his final jouney.
that was 7 years now, poor little elwood.
