Just purchased an Xbox 360 with Kinect (for the wifeys zumba).

Want a good driving game and 3rd person shooter.

Whats the best ones to get?

Battlefeild 3 for shooting shit

Sky rim to lose the rest of your life/wife

3rd person shooter, prob gears 3. 1st person deffo battlefield 3 - it's epic.

Forza it is then. it does look fecking A! I am a formual 1 nut. Is it worth getting a 2nd hand copy of F1 2011 or should I save my reddies?

Yes already have Skyrim and am totally immersed in it (I may grow a beard) . That was our his and hers (Zumba) games when we bought the Xbox.

Ok, it's between Battlefield 3, Gears of War or Mass Effect for the carnage. What are the comparative differences between these 3?

Only play gears and battlefield online but:

Gears = fast, small maps, limited weapons but fun

Bf3 = visually amazing, large scale warfare, hugely customisable weapons, vehicles, building damage.

Bf3 is genuinely superb, best fps available by a mile IMO.

There is something v satisfying about flying a chopper in to enemy territory, parachuting out, landing behind a sniper before knifing him in the back then capturing the flag he's been camping

I haven't had time to play much recently, may have to rectify that this weekend!

If you're after more arcade-y driving games go for PGR4 or Blur (which is basically Mario Kart for grown ups).

For 3rd person shooters I would say Vanquish is easily the best one I've played, makes Gears Of War feel like a sluggish pile of puke.

Battlefield 3 is my multiplayer game of choice for the last 6 months, but be warned, the single player is really bad.

And if you fancy something completely different to all those I highly recommend Fez (mind-bending puzzle-platformer game) and Trials Evolution (motocross stunt game that is the most fun you can have swearing repeatedly at a 80 degree incline), both available as downloads from Xbox Live Arcade.

Got Battlefield 3 off Ebay last night for £20.00. Been looking at gameplay videos this morning, it looks mental. My only worry is that it may be a bit too frenetic. I'm sure there are some covert stealth type ops in there as well though.

D-loaded Forza 4 demo at the weekend. It is nice! Will be purchasing.

Don't think I will be able to buy this and have a marriage though
