4 part doc on BBC starts tonight at 9pm, looks like it could be pretty interesting.

Get It On 70-72

I was born in 1978 and the first year that I was conceptually conscious of was 1984. The first World Cup i was aware of was Mexico '86. The first general election I voted in was 1997.

These are Panic Button's interesting facts of the day for the 17th of April 2012.

i was in 74.

thought it was pretty good as a 'light' social and political history, without being vacuous and fluffy, the stuff about heath was interesting, the house price shiz, and how thatcher didn't create it, it created her, how the ugandan indians changed the face of britain with their determination to rebuild their lives etc.

good stuff.

Is it just a UK-centric thing?

I wish someone (ie. the beeb) was ambitious enough to make an epic documentary covering decades on a worldwide scale. That would be amazeballs.

I'm thinking about something on a larger scale than four episodes. A lot of stuff tends to happen over a decade.
