Fuk me.........I'm not one for sentimental nonsense but this has made me sad. I decided to make my life a world tour of monkeys and Borneo was next on my list....not anymore...

I tried to boycott palm oil a couple of years ago. It's fucking impossible. It's in everything. Plus it's really difficult to get accurate information about what products have it and where it comes from. There is a council set up (by the industry) to try to stop oil from old forests being sold but it's just greenwash basically. It's soo unregulated and chaotic. The demand is really high and the cultivation method is fairly easy so there is always going to be money in clearing forests for anyone unscrupulous or poor enough. Green peace did a campaign a while back that targetted unilver and dove specifically but who remembers that now? The even sell it under different names so that by the time it has got on the ingredients list, it is unrecognisable by name.
Absolutely no constructive advice here unfortunately but it kills me to watch. It's likely that I have already used 5 or so products containing palm oil from my fry up sandwhich to moisturiser and bodywash. How can you fight a market like that?
