ok, so to explain what iwas saying earlier in light of the people sticking up for the saffire 6, you need to understand two things, firstly, it's a usb 1 interface. Secondly, here are its performance figures.
buffer column is buffer size, rxc is how many compressors it can run without breaking up, cv and ncv figures show how much polyphony it will produce without breaking up. the rtl column is round trip latency. The LLP rating is derised by comparing how well it does compared to the highest performing interface (rme aes32 and adi-8qs).

compared to the rme babyface, it has similar performance at 256 samples than the babyface has at 128 samples buffer...... but the babyface does it at 8.4ms latency, whilst the saffire 6 has takes 30ms! thats over three times the latency for the same performance.

this is the komplete audio 6 results
It performs similarly at 128 samples, but at 13ms latency, at under half the price of the Babyface.
Keg has one of the firewire units, which has the same arcitecture and performance as the saffire 56.
I also thought that the sound quality of the saffire 6 was lower than the other interfaces, focusrite's scarlett is a marked improvement. a bit like a 256k mp3 compared to 320k
