It's very lovely.

We stayed in Veradero, visited Havana, pirate's cove, and some of the coastline around Veradero. Stayed in an all inclusive, but took off during the days on mopeds/scooters and drove around checking out random stuff.
I hear there is a sulfur mine to the East of Veradero, and if the wind is blowing the right way - it can stink pretty bad, though we never caught that, thankfully.
Havana is gorgeous. The old cars and colors compliment a good rum buzz. Speaking of rum, there's some good stuff down there...try it all.
I brought some CD's of tunes and gave them away to some locals, they loved that.

Take loads of Biros, felt tips, colouring books, comics, lipstick, batteries, lighters and that sort of thing. This is what the kids in the villages really need/want, U will be their hero.

esp make up, get the mrs to take all her unwanted stuff. Basically anything they can't get their hands on easily.

Try a Place called Masion Xanadu in Varadero for ultimate cigar smoking 1920's chequer floor, grand piano and mojito goodness.

Hemmingway Challenge in Havana is Tits, 10 Mojito's by 4pm was one of the best ways to see the town.

In fact, can I come with you?

^^Fck me that Havana Club rum is good stuff. I had the 2nd worst hangover of my life in Havana the day after a few bottles of that.

My parents went and lived it. You don't have to stay in the resort too. My parents went out into th towns at night and lived it.

You may get a good price for the four year old if its fair haired.
