Kickflip - Rope Shaker (Cut la Roc Remix) [Brighton Breaks]

holler.

twice, actually.

Rope Shaker

Brighton Breaks returns to the fold with this - Kickflip's Rope Shaker. In true kickflip fashion, this tune is a dark heavy techy
meets oldskool rave thumper. Good progression from the start, building a thick yet driving mood. I have to say that i am not a
fan of the "shake your rump" vocal at all. While i'm not opposed to it in a different tune, i think it's counterproductive to the
theme that i interpret of the tune. i could be wrong, but at least he does it tastefully (as good as he could with that vocal), and
doesnt use it TOO much. other than the counterproductive vocal, and well - i have to say i don't like the little high pitch notes at
the end either (sorry!). i don't know. it pulses and thumps like shit, but there are definitely parts that i wish were done
differently. that's just me, though. i'm not blind enough to not be able to see a room going off to this.

Rope Shaker (Cut la Roc Remix)

At first skim though, i was prepared to write that this was completely wack. however, upon a full listen, while it's definitely off,
i'm looking at it as something that coulda come out in like 1997, and it's taking on a whole different feel. it has a very big beaty
feel to it, even starting off breaks before going into house - and i mean like 90's house that had feeling to it. not this beep beep
electro wonk wonk i am mr, funky robot and i make electro music house. if the 90's were your shit - take a listen to this, not
many tunes nowadays are made like this anymore. this tune makes the package for me. i can even overlook the vocal on this
one, although i still wish it wasnt there.

ps. i am a beastie boys fan, and i do like shake your rump.
