Like Chris carter, vandal is highly regarded as one of the most talented and technical producers in the breaks fraternity. ‘Bodywave’ is the theme tune to a submarine chase, deep bass, machine gun synths & sirens created with the distinctive vandal sound. ‘Ronin’ is a monster floor filler; epic build ups and an uber cool samurai film sample, big bass and a big tune.

Love this 12", I can see the Chris Carter comparison, excellent blend of tech with funk and dancibility, I would say Carters production is a lot cleaner and polished, Vandal being grimeyer (in a dirtier more distorted sense not in a garage sense) but this is the first I've heard from Vandal so maybe the grimey thang was what Vandal was after, who knows, not me anyway :)

Heres my review off of nubreaks.com:

bottom line; vandal rocks it.

bodywave is purely my style....ace production and killer groove. vandal is master of short patterns which evolve in quirky, tough and yet natural ways; juxtaposed melodic elements and tough rolling basslines. this will get plays all across the board, and im assuming house jocks will dive all over it...its chunky drum programming and deep groove will work a big room for sure.

ronin will work for the darker sets, but theres still loads of funk in this and some great vocal snippits to kick it up a level. most of what i said about bodywave holds true here too...great drums, killer production, a tight tight groove.

sure bet for my record of the year so far, the raygun guys are TOTALLY on target

"Ronin" is what I bought this for. Almost deep, amost funky...... it grabs me.

Playful, yet kinda serious all at the same time.

I think this is Vandals' best work yet.
