Digital Base - Don't Get Tired / U Know Me [iBreaks]

i really dig the sound ibreaks pushes.

they are like the asian cello prodigies of techfunk.

Don't Get Tired

Don't get tired opens in true digital base techy fashion - a stompy housey break that climbs into this fuckin
sick as balls groove. the techy bassline and cut up vocals work perfectly together. Man, this would kill on a
system. it's pretty groovy through the main chunk leading up to the main break, where we see some electro
blips, among other noises (and a house interlude!) and a big breakdown that is seriously like organized
techfunk chaos. in fact, that's what this tune is - organized techfunk chaos. way cool. probably one of the
cooler things i've heard digital base do to date.

U Know Me

I read the press release first, and it said this tune was going to have some oldskool vibes, and seriously, from
the get go, it does. and it has some cowbell early on. you know a tune is going to rock when it has some
cowbell in under the first minute. wow, when the beat does kick in, it's not what i would expect at all. very
early nuskool (think the first 2 botchit breaks mixes). The trancey bit that comes in, i dont know as much
about, but the beat structure in this tune is where it stands out the most. wait, i take it back on the trancey
bit. the first build sees a crowd cheering over top of a building prog trance synth (think 98/99 trance). this
must have been what it was like to be oakenfold playing in a stadium. (everyone's seen that picture). when it
does kick back in, it grooves out for the rest of the tune. kinda reminds me of way out west meeting freq
nasty and tag teaming john digweed in the late 90's.

asian cello prodigies i tell you. out February 18th.

About time Digital Base got more appreciation for his tunes.

I can't remember a gig i've played where i haven't played out a Digital Base track.
