[ILL041] DJ Fixx – Proper (Illeven Eleven)



By evoking a heavily nostalgic Florida feel inside this very techy Nuskool Break, Dj Fixx's new tune “Proper” lives up to it's name. The first time I heard it break down, the synth work took in this track took me back to the late '90s when those awesomely cheesy Florida vocal-breaks were ruling the dance floors. Then the beat came in, and the snap brought me back with a much bigger, more contemporary vibe to it. I've been waiting for a track like this from Fixx since “Trust Your Gut” came out in Jan of '09.

“Proper” appears on Illeven Eleven's new release “Curtis B Presents – Best of ILL <Broken>” which features plenty of those down-and-dirty booty breaks the label is known for, but this really stood out to me.

I love this track, cannot stop rinsing it at home. I love the vocals, nostalgic but doesn't have to be. Heavy and funky with the brilliant vocal vibery.

Then beat came in and snap me back with a much larger, more modern ambience of the. I was waiting for a track like the Fixx as Trust your gut came in January.
