I can't get into the chatroom using my WinXP laptop. I've tried it on my Win98 PC and I can get in fine, but when am on the laptop all i get is a lil red cross in the top left (I've got the newest version of Java so it aint that)

little help??

I am just wondering who I would have to sleep with and what I would have to do to them to get a different port opened for the chat??

I can't get in with java or mirc at all during the day because the Ed Dept block ports 6666-6669. 7000 is open on most chat networks and I have no probs connecting. This means NSB is out of range of school kids all round Australia! Not good if you are a kid or work at a school. Please, some bastard make a different port available and help the kids! :D

Having major problems getting into chat.

It will not complete the connection. Doesn't matter what user name I use. I do get in some times, on exactly the same machine, but it's a bit temporamental.

I've tried clearing chaches, sweeping for viruses, updating java, a different machine (same connection), the chatizilla plugin, firewall off etc...

I can only assume it is either something to do with my tiscali broadband, or with the server. I'm aware that others can get in, but it just seems to have gone a bit wobbly recently for me.

I had never had a problem until about a week ago.

Any other suggestions?
