bootlegs are unofficial remixes of other people's tunes. to make one:

1 - find a tune you want to rip off
2 - load it into an audio channel
3 - eq the bottom end off it
4 - add some drums and bass etc

sorted ;)

well, obviously it's more complex than that, but that's a good place to start...

Grafite - making booties is wicked fun, but a lot easier with the acappella (the vocal with no music or drums)

search the site for "acapella" threads and you'll find websites which give them away.

and post your bootleg!

I've had a wicked idea.

How about everyone leaves the bootlegs alone and makes something original, preferably with a breakbeat.

Just a thought.

Right. Sorry.

Went away and had a think and I've delayed my home-time to come back here and say my bit.

Grafite: I don't want to stifle your enthusiasm. Trouble is, there's a lot of bootlegs being churned out at the moment. In fact, it's been a source of debate for a while.

Unfortunately, some people are just being lazy and grabbing any old tune and making it into a breaks track. Often it would appear that the original tune is the main reason that it sells, because the actual finished article is very poor quality.

By all means, have a play around with the format.

But I would keep in mind a few points:

1) does the tune really need a bootleg?
2) is the finished article actually going to add anything to the tune?
3) would it be better just to get something original together and then just add small tasters of another tune, ie a vocal, or even just a copy of some part of the tune?

But I certainly wouldn't want to discourage you from having a go.

Good luck mate.

Can I go home now?
