Old tunes will always sound quieter as the MP3's wear down after repeated playing over the years, same thing used to happen with vinyl.

I don't really understand reverb rabbit. Surely it would be more like delay rabbit?

Those shift registers really do take a toll on the high frequencies.

reverb rabbit needs to have heavy blurring that radiates from the outside of the face IMO

You would need quite a high pre-rabbit setting for that or it would just smudge the original rabbit.

I'm really hoping that the loudness craze dies out, or at least backs off a good bit. But I think it's gonna be a while still before it happens.

& yay bunnies!

I like the harmony bunnies.

I think for the most part it's slowly starting to back down. More and more producers I deal with are starting to realize that once you get past a certain point it might be loud, but it sounds like ass compared to what it used to be.

let limiter rabbit be a lesson to you

all you're doing with all that limiting is chopping off a bunny rabbits ears :violin:

Oh, I'm glad other people are seeing it as a problem. I had a break from buying and mixing tunes for a while after using vinyl for 15+ years. When I decided to pick up the headphones again I took the plunge and went DVS.

The first digital file I bought (WAV I might add) was so hideously distorted I actually thought it was some kind of error and complained to beatport who refunded me. I then went on to discover that that's just how tunes are mastered these days. I get that nobody wants to be the quiet tune in the bag (folder) but who the hell started this trend and why?

Radio, they found out somewhere in the 70's/80's that listners tended to stick with louder stations so each station would compress and limit more to be louder than the others, then it bled into production doing the same thing. For alot of people, subconciously at least, louder is better.
