i have a fairly rubbish free plug in delay au type thing, but the level of control is a bit shite

any recommends? any other techniques for achieving similar results without using specific delay plug-in?

also, any logic-heads know if you can do pp delay in ultrabeat? i neve use it, but may do if this possible without sampling teh plumps/

in logic:

send track to mono tape delay via send

put tremolo after tape delay, set smoothing to 0

tremolo will auto pan the delays

and then of course sample teh plumps

I thought you'd say Delay Designer for this one :)

If you make a delay with one tap panned hard left by 1/8, and another one panned hard right and delayed by 1/4, both with no feedback, then put a 1/4 feedbacky Tape Delay over that, you'll get the repeats alternating rather than panning. Set the Delay Designer to 100% wet but have some of the dry signal mixed in on the Tape Delay.

I prefer this way when I want the sound to overlap as it alternates, but mostly I use the autopanning trick.
