FFS - Had a great weekend in the studio, I'm really hyped about the tune I'm working on with a million ideas zipping around my head, but I'm stuck at work :?

The ball-ache is, I know that by the time 5 o'clock comes I'll be knackered, mentally drained and my creative juices will have run dry.

Pull a sicky tomorrow? :chin:

Actually a wicked idea - can't afford a macbook atm, but I guess I could get something reasonably cheap and fiddle around on Ableton :chin:

I get this all the time. By the time I get home I'm tired and end having a little sleep before I can really get stuck into production. Only get a couple of hours or so before I have to turn the music down and put my headphones on. Bloody sucks arse! I even started bringing my mac to work to try and make some music when I am not busy but I spent most of teh time not concentrating because I was worrying about getting 'found out'. I have booked a whole week off next week :D and I have not planned anything but staying in my house and making music(added bonus that everyones at work during the day so I can blast my monitors a bit). I literally cannot wait!

an Nu Breaks Syndicate win followed by an upturn in quality tracks for the scene.... would be a dream.

I have to stop myself thinking about any ideas at work as it will just leave me disapointed!!

I'm exactly the same, I have so many ideas when I'm running around at work of things that I want to do or stuff that I want to work on but when I get home I just can't be bothered, this is why it takes me ages to complete anything and also why some of my tunes go off on tangents because I don't get enough consecutive time to work on it.

My notes section on my phone is full of ideas that have lost their appeal by the time I get to it!!!! Work sucks but I hate being skint.....

Maybe I should work evenings and work on music in the morning... but I know what would happen... work would tire me out and I'd stay in bed all day!!!

one thing i've started doing is loads of prep work getting a load of fresh samples/patches all ready loaded up in my sequencer but not doin anything with them, then loading my ipod up with loads of new podcasts/mixes of stuff in the same ballpark and caining that at work all day, hopefully when i get home i'll be able to dive straight in

Yeah, this is my plan - finding tunes I love and then analysing them all day at work.

Yeah, not sure this would work - you'd always have the thought of work looming over you :( I'm thinking about trying to wangle a 4 day week, a whole day off mid week would be amazing.
