Ok so having seen quite a bit of house bashing on this forum (yes i know its a breaks website but......) I wondered, is it just pick on the easy target, cause lets face it A LOT of House is total gash, or do breaks heads truely hate house music and all it entails?
Personally I couldn't play breaks all the time, mixing House and electro provides me with a different outlet for my mood and can often have devastatingly good results......try dropping Montero's "Captain Hook" on a breaks dancefloor and you'll know exactly what i mean
There's loadsa wicked stuff out there (Chable, Montero, AFK, Jaytech, Dousk, 16 Bit Lolita's, etc), you just gotta look for it and personally i'm sick of all the "house is gay/breaks DJ's shouldn't mix house etc" remarks............pigeon holing is a bad thing but its human nature.......my mate Ratty who is totally into reggae would put Luke Chable and Bob Sinclair in the same league....or as he likes to call it "duff duff"!
Now i'm not saying that all House is good, as all music has good and bad elements, what i'm saying is are breaks heads put off by a 4/4 beat?
So, is House (term used loosly) a valuable commodity once we've sifted throught the shite....or is it just for pretty people and chart releases?

I have no problem with the occasional 4/4 beat. But it HAS to have some kind of swing to it. Can't be doing with that trancey nonsense. A nice bit of electro/minimal/phat house can work wonders.

I love a good 4/4 tune and at Boomslang, pretty much everyone plays a bit of 4/4 and when Koma & Bones played a slamming (mostly) 4/4 set, they smashed the place to pieces. The latest gig had Kid Kenobi and Rennie and yes, they both played a bit of 4/4.
I think its great that more and more predominantly breaks DJs, play the odd 4/4 tune, cause at the end of the day, no matter what a few stuck up people on forums think, people that go out, just wanna stomp the ground to a slamming tune, be that 4/4 or breaks.
