Are you managing anyone at the moment? Maybe try to blag an intern. Register on http://www.internwise.co.uk.

We pay ours, but you don't have to. It could be a useful sidetrack and free you up for some more strategic thinking (i.e. get them to do everything) Plus you get some management experience and thats another feather in your cap. Only choose the fit ones, do not underestimate the healing power of eye candy.

can anyone get an intern? can i get one? do you get vetted like if you adopt an animal from the rspca?

i would like one called timothy, i could make him get my lunch and do the photocopying

Flange: People are so desperate for work, they are prepared to sit in an office for 8 hours doing the most mundane of tasks, being subjected to terrible dad jokes all for a pittance. Its the terrible state our economy is in.

But yes, I was thinking about this and I reckon that anyone can have an intern. The problem is, they aren't normally very good and need a lot of looking after, a bit like a spider plant.

what if you don;'t even have a job yourself? can you just get one to have at home and just pretend like you are your own boss and run a big in the game business but really you are just hubie?

That's a really good idea, but the top has fallen off a bit here, plus I've been here over 10 years now. It's time to think about moving on.

I needs a move.

As I am in the Redeployment Pool at the MoD I've got mundane departments trying to poach me for their teams. The type of work they do would drive me insane within a couple of months.

Holding out for the IT jobs that are supposed to be coming up, but to be honest I wouldn't mind getting out of the MoD. It's only the benefits we get and the lack of private sector jobs that are stopping me.

Not on a military establishment moite.

Went to one of the big army bases once which was like a village.
Drove down the road sandwiched by two effing big tanks.

Most disconcerting.

I'm going to own a windturbine company at somepoint. There will be mandatory bumbings. Board meetings will be decided on who can survive rounds of jager/2cb and a whim. We'll drive up and down the country putting giant windturbines on farms and festivals to bolster the farming industry. We'll give massive consessions to the poorest in the country and run community based projects that let residents work on their own community turbines. There will be at least 1 day a fortnight where wigs must be worn at all times.
We'll need people to do webstuff more than likely. Someones gonna need to 'googlemaps' all of our installation destinations. We'll need the finest selection of biscuits that it's possible for a tearoom to possess. We'll need a pretend 'Daley Thompson's decent into meth' twitter account because we can. We'll need two female and two male company bicycles. We'll need an accountant. We'll need people to help install the shiz all up and down the country.

Let me know when you're hiring. I'm ace at admin. :P
