I thought i would ask here as a lot of people are from London and i do not have a clue !

Me and a mate were thinking about coming up to London and visiting the Olympic park, to get a bit of the atmosphere and stuff. I have found out that we need tickets just to get into the park, gutted :/

So, is it worth coming up without tickets, is there anything going on and to do ? Can we buy tickets up there ?

I know they have there reasons but it seems a bit silly that we can not get involved at all without a ticket.

Cheers

they are releasing more on the website, but i also read that you can just turn up at the park and try and get a returned seat, not sure how many other people also have this idea though

I think it's supposed to be possible but unlikely, we got our park tickets a few months ago and they've sold out I think. Think you can possibly buy returns but I should imagine demand way outstrips supply!

Actually if You just wanna get some of the atmosphere you could go to one of the big screen events in Hyde park or Victoria park http://www.viewlondon.co.uk/whatson/oly ... eSiteStats

The victoria park one has people like Norman jay playing and stuff, might be worth checking out?

there's nothing available in the park. as soon as you exit stratford station, ticket holders and those picking up tickets are funneled towards the stadium. there is no evidence of tickets being sold there. the hockey was half empty apparently and i walked past it (in the rain) several times. also checked the orbit situation and it was all sold out.

have since checked the website and everything is still listed there but is either sold out or the ticket prices are stupid.

would quite like to go back and spend more time in the park or go to an event, but unless they sort out the website, i don't see how that will happen.

heard on lbc they are planning to change the ticket allocation system though, so we'll have to wait and see just how much worse they can make it

I just heard on the news that they're re-allocating the empty seats to members and family members of the army and police. Best sign up for the army if you want to get a ticket I spose. Like Fry and Bender did in Futurama...

One of the links you posted said 300 handball tickets were available yesterday in the park James? From people who had finished with them. Maybe you just need to find the right place to get them from, it is massive after all!

too late now. also, how does one get tickets when one needs tickets to get into the park?

i just imagined that people would advertise the fact if there were tickets. there are a lot of volunteers standing about pointing and not being particularly proactive. they didn't seem desperate to shift spare tickets to me. i heard or saw nothing, but apparently there were still lots of empty seats.

what they say to the media and the experience in the park appear to be unrelated to me.
