there are differing opinions and then there is delusion. Binplants is usually the latter.

And that's why we love him

It seems the general opinion is that, even though Rises is brilliant, it isn't quite as good as the Dark Knight. I tend to agree tbh.

But yeah, it's a superb conclusion to what I think is the best comic-book film trilogy ever. Proper amazebats. I wanna go see it again :badger:

The Dark Knight is one of my favourite films of all time so I was expecting this to be a big let down but in my opinion, whilst not as coherent and slick as TDK it was a total triumph once it got going (which took a long time). It's far from perfect but there are so many good ideas here and such an epic scope that it can be forgiven for it's flaws. I will watch it again soon just to digest it all. It has made me want to watch the first one again which I was slightly unimpressed by on first viewing.

Basically: Some fucking awesome film making going on right here.

Far from perfect, like you said.

It has massive elements of 'everything but the kitchen sink' in there. Like Nolan thought it could be his last film in a slightly desperate coup de grace. 3 hours is far too long for any film and I got bored of the same cliched emotional tension being built and then let out in explosions, fights and character twists. It was obvious in the extreme and not as mature or emotionally complex as begins or returns. IMO. ;)

I dont mate. I'm not about sitting down for 3 hours on the trot for anything.

Not many people are. Even a boring old football match isn't 3 hours long, you know what I mean?

Thats why I like TV shows. They're an hour long and you get way more out of them over a season.

Films are old news IMHO. Dated concept.

No I don't. If a story is gripping enough to fill three hours then it is gripping enough to fill three hours.

I will admit though that I would rather watch a 3 hour long movie at home on my sofa with my feet up, pause function and close toilet and kitchen facilities. On VHS. With tracking.

I personally think the story was flawed, as was the screenplay which meant it peaked too early, and suffered from too little character development. Robin was pathetic and Catwoman, as hot as she was, was under-used.
