nothing stopping you asking then?

i just got £10 out of barclays for them completely cocking me around and wasting my time on the phone over a direct debit (plus the £8 charge refunded)

could have just left it and paid the £8 I suppose.

I got £50 out of them recently as I moaned and bitched that much about them blocking my pin for NO reason at all and then I couldn't do anything for like a week. I think I could have got more if I had carried on with it but I couldn't be arsed by that point.

yes complaining is generally a good idea. I'm amazed at the number of peeps in this country who just shrug their shoulders and put up with stuff

depends what you're complaining about and where you're complaining about it though.

I'd generally rather bless thrice and get on with doing something fun than spend hours complaining/moaning at some underpaid phone monkey that had nothing to do with whatever you're complaining/moaning about tbh.

pop music in general. Aussies lap up the worst US pop music in favour of having their own culture. Its sad.

not having enough time to do stuff

hmmm pop culture is pop culture. you know there is fresh australian shiz...

yeah but none of it really gets any love unless by some stroke of absolute luck its made it on to a commerical playlist whereas the US top 40 gets practically transplanted into the Aus market.

in the UK there are outlets for homegrown music, particularly on the radio. it is positively discriminated towards because Brits take pride in it.

and pop culture is no different to the rest of the music scene its a mistake to think it is.

hmm i agree on radio front. still lot of shows as i recall. i was worse 10 years ago when there was no US rnb on the radio at all. when my mate first moved to aus from canada he called triple j triple k (KKK) because it was all honky rock

not gonna help when they've just fucked up your mortgage payment because it's...........

a weekend. i mean. who could have planned for something as rare as that?

so basically, money should come out on 1st of month, but because it was on sunday they.... took it out early, stopping me using the account, then the payment got returned, because there wasn't enough money in, as the payments due to go in on 31st were delayed because it's a weekend.

then they charge you £8 for their fuckup. :bang:

it depends on the situation of course, but even if it doesn't get you anywhere it's generally worth trying imo. Even if they use your complaint in a 'training exercise', someone's bound to take notice on some level at least. That's how I like to look at it anyway.

Don't get mugged off ftw

If you reverse the jetstream we'd have winters on a par with Moscow.

I'm a serial complainer, but I also writer complimentary letters to companies when someone's really gone out of their way to help me.

I wrote one for one of the local train conductors who really is an awesome chap, and another one for the two staff at Manchester who properly sorted me out when the trains fucked up and prevented me from getting to Whitby, a few months ago.

I think more people should do this. Received very nice notes back thanking me for my time and saying they'd pass it on to the respective people's line managers. :)

yes but they tend to have summers too, whereas this country has a year long winter.

If I hear one more UK event organiser claim this weather is "unprecedented" I may be forced to punch a kitten. It rains EVERY YEAR you berks. Plan for it or gtfo of the business
