I am often seen digging through the stacks of bread trying to find a loaf that has a good date. I am THAT rock n roll :badger:

I'm the same. I have seeded batch ans it usually has two days from when it is in the store. Seeded sensation lasts slightly longer and a bread bin will get you a couple of extra days out of it.

The majority of the bread I see in supermarkets have use by dates of about 2 days from time of purchase. The reality it takes about 1-2 weeks for the bread to become stale/mouldy.

To continue this fascinating conversation a little more... I tend to think four days is reasonable, and sainsbos often stock that sort of thing, just not as often as I'd like. Seeded batch rules :badger:

you just need to buy bread with more preservatives

Real fresh bread is only fresh on the day it was baked IMO, the day after it's still ok for a sandwich, but the day after that it's only fit for toasting/breadcrumbs/bread and butter pudding.

Get a breadbin, breadbin, mine lasts for over a week in there.

 Bread maker

If you are going to the bother of putting, flour, water, salt and yeast into a machine, you might as well save yourself £100 and make it by hand, it's great stress relief. I read somewhere that the average bread making machine is used 6 times then consigned to the cupboard.

(No Allan, I don't always make my own bread, maybe once a week. So you can fuck off)
