What a joke this is.

Down in London, we've been paying for it through council tax (I'll be surprised if it goes down afterwards n all).

So maybe a few free tickets?

No.

Not even priority to buy them?

No.

And these tickets include free travel on the transport network we've all been paying exorbitant prices for over the past 3 years plus, while putting up with a service that is mostly shut at weekends to upgrade it for 7 million twats to ride around on for free for 3 weeks.

How much are the tickets for the riots?

that is rather insulting I agree.

I am still pro the London Olympics though. This country needs a kick up the sporting arse

I agree Shaman - was talking to the missus about this just recently. Everybody in London should get 1 free ticket or at least priority for 1 thing IMO - even if its a relatively obscure event.

Burn Boris.

i don't have a problem with the olympics as an idea.

but i kinda got the impression that you get loads of home support in your own country.

we'll all still be trying to get to work.

edit @ shaman above  good point mans but i remember what sydney was like before the actual event - police state but ironically they had bussed all the homeless/black etc likely to make trouble out of town to nice accommodations for the duration.

what pisses me off is it's a thinly veiled pr exercise to upgrade an ailing public transport system. The system needed to be upgraded regardless of whether we host the olympics or not. But would it have happened if we hadn't won the olympics? I doubt it. Are they using the olympics as a front in order to charge us exorbitant taxes to pay for it? Very definitely.

My knee-jerk reaction is that the 2012 Olympics is a fucking sick joke from conception to realisation.

Spending way too much taxpayers money on cock-ups for the potential "benefits" it may bring.

I'm sure the hot-dog sellers will be raking it in.
