Still not got round to watching this yet :(

I had the choice of The Avengers or this when I last went to the cinema and I chose Avengers. Still, it gave me a chance to watch Alien again and Aliens is on Saturday on Film Four so might watch that and then can get round to watching this with those two fresh in my mind.

Top tip: If you're waiting for a film to come out, don't click the thread in Off Topic entitled the same as said film you are waiting to see.

:)

PS I might go and see this again - I enjoyed it that much.

I've not really looked in this thread. I know the basic plot of it thanks to trailers generally ruining films for you by being far too long. Can't stop myself from watching them though.

When Sixth Sense was on, a fella I worked with had gone to see it. He was on about it and saying he didn't want to tell me too much as it would ruin it. His final line was something along the line of "I can't tell you too much as it would ruin the twist because at the end, it turns out that....
Bruce WIllis is dead!

And then looked aghast at when he had done and apologised  I din't really give two fucks to be honest. Somebody else would have ruined it for me anyway. He did it comedy fashion.

Trailers ruin films nowadays anyway. I watched the trailer on IMDB of Silver Linings Playbook. I do not need to watch that film after seeing that trailer.

someone i know was in a cinema watching sixth sense. a couple got in a row. he finished it by standing up during the paerl and dean adverts saying 'fuck you, i didn't want to see it anyway. oh, by the way, bruce willis is dead, now, can we get out of here now?' in fornt of the whole, relatively full, cinema.

finally got round to watching it, was ok. Should have killed the engineer off earlier and had the little alien mofo kill them all instead

thought it was interesting the way they modeled the engineer on john hartson

I enjoyed it. I don't know what all the fuss is about with folk not liking it.

Yeah, trailers give far too much away. The same as when you read the back cover of a book.

As for the Sixth Sense, it was so obvious what the twist was going to be. Everyone was saying "yeah, it's about a kid who can see dead people, and Bruce Willis is the main character and is the kids psychologist. And there's a MASSIVE twist." Hmmm, I wonder what that could be :sus:

Trailers are wank. I like to avoid them at all costs, I don't want any insight in to a film before I watch.

Trouble is, most people probably wouldn't watch a film unless the film promo people gave audiences some insight in to the film whilst they were at the cinema watching something else.

I'd love it if they showed an advert laden episode of Film 2012 before films at the cinema ie something tasteful and interesting.
