So if the diffusers are thrown out, Alonso will be the winner of the Oz GP!

Bloody crazy.

According to the radio live 5 presenters during the friday practice last week if the, if the diffusers are finally deemed illegal, any points scored by those teams using them will still stand, but the cars will need to be altered with immediate effect. I don't quite understand how that works myself..

This season appears to have already started as a bit of a joke. what a shame.

i've always defended the FIA regarding them always having a go at McLaren, but slowly but surely i'm starting to believe it as well, this is just too much of a coincidence.
as said before, i don't like McLaren at all and would like nothing more then to see them being beaten by Ferrari (or any team for that matter), but only on the racetrack and nowhere else. Bar a few bad years they've always been at the top of the field and they've shown they belong there. i can't understand why the FIA would intentionally try and prevent them from winning, McLaren is VERY important to F1.

McLaren really need to lift their game when it comes to stuff like this. They have an amazing history in F1, but over the last couple of years this has been tarnished badly - regardless of what is fact.

they should be playing user-safe, not doing silly shit like this

interestingly they have just sacked the Sporting Director Dave Ryan over it:

Whitmarsh said: "His role in the events of last Sunday, particularly his dealings with the FIA stewards, has caused serious repercussions for the team, for which we apologise. Therefore, I suspended him this morning and he has accepted this.

In other news Ferrari top the timesheets after 2nd practice - I think this race will be a lot closer

a) I think they were trying to play it uber safe - by trying to get clarification over the radio from race control who were "too busy" trying to sort out the vettel/kubica crash. Doesn't alter the fact you shouldn't tell porkies to the stewards.

b) having seen the video where Toyota claim Hamilton slowed to "15 mph" I can say that's utter bollocks.

c) It will rain and we all know how good the Ferraris are in the wet ;)

I'm quite glad for Brawn but Button is a smug self-satisfied cock and I'd rather it wasn't him benefiting from all the madness. He's gonna start double-teaming hot blonds with his dad again.

Button does it again!

crazy race - great to see heaps of overtaking - the Webber / Alonso battle was wicked.

more like that please - well apart from the rain and the shortened race bit....

Honda is "frustrated" to have abandoned Formula One on the eve of almost guaranteed success, new team owner Ross Brawn insists.

The Briton is now leading the Brackley-based camp following a management buyout, having bought it from the struggling Honda Motor Co. for a symbolic 1 British pound.

!!!

how's that for ROI

Oh don't forget the £100 million honda have paid brawn for this season (the cost of winding down the company and disposing of the assets)

Brawn are set to get about 70 mill of sponsorship this year that will pay for next year + TV money + win bonus = Ross Brawn genius (it's no co-incidence that the years of Ferrari's reassurance were with Brawn at the helm) and that their mistakes started creeping in after he left.
